Welcome to your new roof...

The foreman of the crew will introduce themselves so that you have a point of contact while the job is in progress. Also, they will discuss with you the best location for our mobile disposal trailer, or disposal bin.

In order to keep your property clean and tidy we take extra steps before even getting on your roof. We place tarps around the entire perimeter of your house to catch any debris that may fall as we work. During this time we also place the mobile disposal trailer in the discussed location.

First we strip the old shingles off of your roof and place them into the mobile disposal trailer. We will also check to make sure the surface of the plywood is even before placing the new products down.

Before we place any new products on your roof we need to make sure the plywood base is strong and not damaged by water, or rot. If we do find any sections that need to be fixed, we will cut out the damaged area and patch it back up to code.

In order for us to build you a roof that will last for the years to come, we need to make sure all the extra steps are taken underneath the shingles. At the edge of your roof we place a metal drip edge, which will help guide water into the eave. Underneath your shingles we place two types of underlayment as your second layer of defence. The first type of underlayment we place down is the ice and water shield. We place it at the edges of your roof (anywhere there’s an eave), and in your valleys. The second type of underlayment we place on your roof is the synthetic underlayment. This is placed over your entire roof. Other pieces we replace on your roof are the vents, goosenecks, and plumbing collars.

In the valleys we place a piece of painted aluminum. We shingle over top of it and leave about 1.5" - 2" exposed on each side. Now, when it rains the water will concentrate on the metal and not on the shingles.

To make sure your roof can survive the harsh Canadian weather we had to select a shingle that could stand up to it. This is why we use a GAF architectural style shingle. GAF was founded over 100 years ago, and their products are designed to withstand the harsh Canadian weather. With a company that has been in business for this long, they have to be trusted in providing a quality product.

Once we are finished the installation phase, we start our extensive cleaning process. We want your house to look like we were never there, minus your new roof of course! First we leaf blow off your roof to remove any extra granules and debris. Then we hand clean out your eavestroughs all the way around your house. After this we roll up the tarps that were placed around your house, and then we finish off by running a magnet around your property. We do this to collect any nails or staples that may have been hiding around your home.

Complete!!! Within a couple days of your roof completion, one of our representatives will come visit you to follow up. We do this to ensure that you are happy with the project, and to confirm that everything was done to our standards. During this follow up we will also be collecting the final payment.
